Don't be afraid to color your hair, I would stay away from highlights unless hair is very long. The problem comes when men with very short hair have them applied it looks very "stripey" and un-natural - if you have a dynamite colorist it wouldn't be a problem, but there are just not that many of them

• Go to the appointment with a couple photo's of hair you like
• Ask her to show you how to style it

Ask the stylist for advice on finding the right style for your face, they are trained to see this and a good one will blow you away.
